1927-Nine year old Hannah is unsure what to expect when her large family moves from the fishing village they always lived in, to an isolated lighthouse on the coast of Newfoundland. What she discovers is a life filled with adventure, wonder, and danger.
As Hannah grows into a young lady, she’s determined to make the best life possible, despite ever-present adversity. Facing everything from the fury of Mother Nature and illness, to a persistent suitor, the Great Depression and World War II.
American born grandson of a Newfoundland lighthouse-keeper, Don wrote this novel while social distancing with COVID. He brings stories told to him by his mother, the heroine that grew up at the lighthouse, as well as his many Newfoundland relatives. He loves Newfoundland and enjoyed many visits there.
